Sustainable Outdoor Furniture
When the sun starts to feel that little bit warmer at the end of winter my attention always turns outdoors to the garden. After months of hibernating I just want to get out there and get the garden looking pretty for Spring and Summer. My garden furniture consists of our beautiful bamboo outdoor furniture from Idyll Home. I have a lounge sofa that I have had for several years and it has withstood the British winters, dogs and teenagers!
Made from bamboo which is a very versatile material for outdoor furniture, bamboo is at least twice as strong as timber. In terms of tensile strength, it is also more durable than steel. Yet despite being so strong, bamboo furniture is incredibly light which makes it easy to transport over long distances. Bamboo is also a brilliant material to make sustainable furniture as it grows so quickly, and can be harvested regularly without damaging the root systems, a new crop of bamboo will grow to full height within a year.
Alongside the sustainability factor, our range of bamboo garden furniture from Tine K Home looks stunning too. Simple clean design is a characteristic of their Scandinavian style and the garden range doesn't compromise on looks along with it's eco-credentials. A favourite of many stylish hotels around the world from Ibiza to Tulum, however, this doesn't mean it can't be used in our often rainy gardens! Bamboo has a natural silica layer that protects it from rainwater, the hardness rating for bamboo is higher than for some types of hardwood. We do recommend keeping any garden furniture covered though during the winter months though to prolong it's life. Bamboo furniture can also be sealed to preserve it's life and prevent mould growth.
